Rebeka Pál
Rebeka Pàl is a womenswear designer who is enthusiastic about creating clothes that are better for our environment. Her graduation collection, titled “Neo-Naturalism”, primarily focuses on leather and knitwear. The collection aims to relearn how to see ourselves as part of nature and to live in harmony with it. The inspiration behind the garments’ silhouettes and details comes from ancient Hungarian and Hun-Age clothing as well as Western wear. These apparel traditions, from different times and places, are united by a mindset of respecting nature and understanding what many of us have forgotten. Today, there is enough academic research and technological advancement available for the fashion industry to shed its old, unsustainable ways. This symbolism is reflected in the shedded snake skin knits developed for this collection.
Pàl’s other passion is conducting research on sustainable fashion and exploring the connection between human behaviour and fashion. She believes fashion is one of the most important platforms of our time; therefore, she considers it crucial that her designs and garments convey a message.
