Louis McFall
Louis McFall is a digital menswear designer who specialises in innovation within pattern cutting, grew up in Somerset, eventually finding his way into fashion design through a fashion business course at Bridgwater college. His interest in military and functional wear led him to explore Gorpcore, a fashion trend blending outdoor recreation outerwear with streetwear. Seeking deeper inspiration, McFall researched the historic 1912 Terra Nova expedition to Antarctica—a monumental event with enduring cultural significance which some consider to be the beginning of tech–wear as we know it today.
Hood shapes and details play a crucial role in Louis' designs, mirroring the functionality of expedition gear. He experiments with oversized, adjustable, or multifunctional hoods that can adapt to various conditions. Accessories are integral to McFall's vision, serving as complementary elements to his theme. Expedition-inspired bags, sturdy boots, and practical headgear feature prominently in his collections.
He has also been awarded by SYKY “top 50 emerging digital designers”. SYKY is a collective of digital designers who believe technology has the potential to be a great equaliser and the next generation of designers will be digital-first, revolutionising design in digital, physical, and augmented worlds. They are driven by an ethos of opportunity, providing a platform for designers, collectors, and those who love fashion to curate, and trade their collections.
