Lo Sidelind
Lo Sidelind is a documentary photographer who captures everyday living moments in domestic and public spaces surrounding themes of human connection and culture. His projects date back to 2016 when he was living in Thailand, then Sweden, The Netherlands, and currently, his final year at university in London where he is completing a bachelor's degree in photography.
Sidelind's production process takes a multidisciplinary approach by shooting digitally and on 35mm film and then overlaying his drawings onto his photographs. The drawings aim to contribute meaning and operate as a side commentary to his work.
In his first year Sidelind started developing a documentary style and adapting it into fashion photography, a field he continues to explore.
During his second year, he created a project titled, “moments in transit”, where he photographed commuters in London’s transport hubs exploring the theme of home. As an individual of third culture identity, this is a theme often portrayed in his work, as growing up, travel was one of the few constants in an ever-shifting environment.
For his final year project, Sidelind will release a book titled, “third connection” where he further explores the theme of third culture identity through the wider scope of Londoners living in a cultural melting pot. This work aims to portray the social impact of globalism on people in their early adult years.
