Jaklin Stoyanova

In this groundbreaking project, Jaklin Stoyanova introduces Modern Vision, an innovative application aiming at revolutionising the spatial awareness experience for visually impaired people. This application marks a significant advancement in the field of assistive technology, tailored exclusively to the requirements of the visually impaired community. Modern Vision uses cutting-edge technologies, including Amazon Recognition and Polly-text-to-speech, a cutting-edge image analysis service, to present customers with real-time geographical data. Modern Vision provides users with a new method to observe and navigate their environment with increased precision and efficiency, as well as powerful facial recognition. This research emphasises the transformational power of creative computing in addressing real-world problems. This application also functions with WIFI and Cellular data thus increasing accessibility and user-friendliness. This comprehensive design and development process has showed a thorough awareness of both the technical components of modern computing and the human-centered approach required for generating effective solutions.

Application on smartphone device
Application on smartphone deviceThe icon used is a simple yet powerful portrayal of an eye, which represents both vision and understanding. Its clean lines and brilliant colours suggest modernism and innovation, reflecting the application's cutting-edge technology. Modern Vision is fundamentally a tool for increasing spatial awareness, and the icon represents this aim via its emphasis on clarity and accuracy. The detailed features within the eye represent the depth and richness of the spatial information offered by the program, and the subtle gradients and shadows provide depth and dimension.
Expo Go used to perform development build
Expo Go used to perform development buildExpo Go was critical in guaranteeing the accessibility and extensive availability of the Jaklin Stoyanova-developed application. Stoyanova was able to complete a smooth development build using Expo Go's powerful development environment, allowing her application to reach consumers across several platforms and devices. Expo Go streamlines the development process by offering a single platform for creating, testing, and distributing applications for iOS, Android, and the web. Stoyanova used Expo Go's user-friendly interface and complete toolset to generate a development build of her application, which streamlined the deployment process and ensured compatibility with various operating systems and devices. By leveraging Expo Go's features, she assured that her application was accessible and usable by visually impaired people worldwide, regardless of their favourite device or platform. Stoyanova's ambition of developing an inclusive and widely accessible solution for the visually impaired population was realised thanks to Expo Go's adaptability and accessibility capabilities.
React Native
React NativeStoyanova chose React Native as the framework for her application because of its flexibility, efficiency, and cross-platform compatibility. React Native enabled her to use her JavaScript skills to create a seamless user experience while targeting several platforms, including iOS and Android. Stoyanova shortened the development process by using React Native, which allowed for quick product iteration and release. Furthermore, React Native's extensive library of pre-built components and strong community support provided Stoyanova with the resources she required to overcome obstacles and implement complex functionalities, allowing her to create a polished and accessible application for visually impaired people.
Application used in real-time
Application used in real-timeModern Vision's user interface has been deliberately created to deliver a smooth and intuitive experience for visually impaired users. One of its notable features is the ability for users to tap anywhere on the screen and receive an output in as little as 5 seconds. This responsive interaction is achieved by the use of Touchable Opacity for the icon, which makes the programme usable from any position on the screen, increasing accessibility. Modern Vision works seamlessly in any area because to its use of Wi-Fi and cellular data connectivity. When the user taps the screen, the application uses powerful facial recognition technology to quickly recognise faces and provide immediate response. Within seconds, the app outputs the recognised items in the user's environment, enabling complete spatial awareness beyond verbal interactions. Demonstrations will be shown at the degree show as the video is far too large to get added This deliberate design approach substantially adds to Modern Vision's user-friendliness, allowing visually impaired persons to not only hear others but also get vital information into their surroundings through object recognition. Modern Vision establishes a new standard for assistive apps by seamlessly merging cutting-edge technology with user-centered design concepts, improving users' lives via increased accessibility and autonomy.
