Haylee West

Haylee West (also known as "Vixrenel") is a mature, yet young and enthusiastic aspiring graphic designer/illustrator. Although specialising in creating character backgrounds and quickly generating intriguing story plotlines, West aims to pursue a more artistic career and thus is constantly trying to develop her skills further as both a physical and digital artist. Hardworking and detail-oriented, West enjoys experimenting with unfamiliar drawing media, learning different techniques and exploring new ideas. Through her belief that “art is always developing”, West aims to create a more consistent art style that she could present to industry professionals.

While studying at Ravensbourne University London, West has developed her love for the creative arts, and seeks to master the art of visual storytelling so she could one day produce her own Webtoon series. However, in between school and work, West can be found working on various mini passion projects, from practicing interior design and architecture on Sims 4 to completing 'Draw this in your style' (DTIYS) artwork of her friends' original characters (OC) which she posts on Instagram.

In the future, West plans on tackling more DTIYS challenges and hopefully taking on some commission work so she can learn more about working as a freelancer artist and thus learn new skills that she can use to pursue a career in the constantly evolving creative industries.

Two Sides of a Person – This is a lyric book cover for RIELL's song Better Off, which is part of her EP album Winter. Since the album marks the beginning of RIELL's villain era, the lyric book has an angel and demon theme.

Theirstory, featuring Simone Biles – Theirstory was an illustrative project which focused on creating a ‘Little People, BIG DREAMS’ story for young children. West chose Simone Biles as the person of interest.

Theirstory, featuring Simone Biles – Simone Biles is inspiring because she fully committed herself to her sport and her dedication paid off with 4 Olympic Gold Medals. Hopefully, she can win another this year in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Diversity in Art – Emilia-Mae was a character West developed just before the start of her university journey, so far she has been developed 3 times. Though this is just her beginning, West looks forward to her future.

The Minervas – Featured in West's Undertopia Final Major Project, these are character concept posters for her four AI sentient beings who live within the Minerva Forest of her AI dystopian world.
