Ben Keyes is a sports photographer from South London. Surrounded by football in this part of the capital, he decided to explore this avenue throughout his BA (Hons) Digital Photography course. Through his work with non-league side Cray Wanderers FC and YouTube stars SE DØNS, he has developed his skills as a dynamic sports photographer, aiming to capture key moments throughout each game. Looking for a mix of both candid portraits and action shots, he brings a unique look to his portfolio, exploring the characters behind the players on the pitch. Integrating a mix of colour alongside black and white images, Keyes has experimented with different styles throughout the past 3 years of his degree, combining both documentary and sports photography. Learning through each image he shoots, he has developed a style beyond the sporting occasion, with a determination to portray more than what meets the eye within the non-league football pyramid. Grateful for the network he has developed throughout his time at Ravensbourne University, alongside his role as a Team Leader at the FUJIFILM House of Photography in Covent Garden, Keyes is now surrounded by photographic inspiration and wants to take his portfolio to the next level following his graduation.
